This work compiles Ohgugut, Younggam halmi (a type of drama known as Korean mask play) from Dongraeyaryu, breaking the frame of tradition, and approaching the full will and potential of its artistic merit. The play based on the form of Gut, the struggle between this world and the world of the dead. This Gut makes the regrettable souls have fun and leave this life without any lingering affection towards this world. There is a song for the dead and the living by shaman; the struggle of mother implies connection between this world and the world of dead. These actions to soothe the soul of the dead in a play are not only comforting the dead souls but also praying for the safety of the living.

**Theatre Company MAC** has been a leading theatre company in Busan for over 38 years since its founding in December 1986. Continuously producing original works that reflect regional characteristics, the company has established a distinct artistic identity.

MAC has achieved remarkable success in national theatre festivals, winning multiple awards, including *Best Acting Award* for *General Ahn Yong-bok* (2005), *Silver Prize & Best Directing Award* for *Dongnae Byeolgok* (2007), *Grand Prize, Best Directing, and Best Acting Award* for *Grandmother Dung* (2008), and *Best Acting Award* for *The Sentence of Summer* (2011). In 2021, the company once again proved its excellence by winning the *Gold Prize* for *Samtaesa*.

Beyond Korea, MAC actively promotes the excellence of Korean theatre on the international stage. The company participated in the **Avignon Off Festival** in France for four consecutive years (2013–2016), performed at the **Sibiu International Theatre Festival** in Romania (2014), and received critical acclaim at the **Edinburgh Festival Fringe** (2016–2017). Notably, *Le Figaro*, a leading French newspaper, praised *Binari* as “a small jewel of Korean theatre” and compared it to “a Molière-style farce.”

In 2018, MAC expanded its international presence with performances at the *Swiss Olympic Museum's ‘Korea Day’* event, celebrating the **PyeongChang Winter Olympics**, and at the **Luxembourg Cultural Institute**, further solidifying its global reach.
