Ascension – A Journey Towards Endless Elevation

A man who once worked on the highest 88th floor has fallen from grace due to insider trading allegations. Now, he lives at the foot of the business district, trying to navigate his new reality. The only companion left by his side is Horace—a slow, overweight elephant with no connection to the tower, yet absolutely devoted to him. But can Horace help him return to the 88th floor? And will he accompany him on his journey of social and spiritual ascension?

“Ascension” explores humanity’s inherent drive to rise higher, the pursuit of greatness, and the arrogance and vanity encountered along the way. The protagonist experiences a dramatic fall from ambition, leading him to seek redemption and embark on a new kind of "ascension." The play questions the relevance of "forgiveness" and "compassion" in today’s world.

This production has been invited to perform at prestigious festivals, including Marto Festival – Nuit de la Marionnette 2023, Puppet World Festival 2023, Belfort International Puppet Festival 2024, Méliscènes International Puppet Festival 2024, Moving Parts Arts Festival Newcastle 2024, and MIMA International Puppet Festival 2024. In 2025, it will continue its journey at Espace Michel Simon (Noisy-le-Grand) and Méli Mélo Puppet Festival (Cestas).

SITIO is an emerging visual theatre company based in Paris, founded by a collective of international artists from the Lecoq Theatre School. The company explores the complexities of contemporary society, crafting unique performances that blend the grotesque, irony, and poetic expression.
